Since you only pay for your server while it's running on exaroton, it makes sense to not run it while nobody is playing. This, however, means that the server needs to be started whenever someone wants to play.
To make this as easy as possible, exaroton allows you to configure your Minecraft server to automatically start whenever a player tries to connect.
Supported games and versions
The automatic startup feature is available for both Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition, but might not available for all game versions. We always target to support the latest release version, although it may take a few days after updates until the new version is supported.
On Minecraft Java Edition, older versions, starting at 1.7.10, should also work, but this may change in the future with new updates.
On Minecraft Bedrock Edition, only the latest version of the game is supported.
Enabling automatic server startup
Automatic server startup can be enabled in your server options.
Banned players will never be able to start your server, but you can also further limit automatic starts to only work for whitelisted players or operators.
Custom in-game messages
In-game messages shown by the automatic startup system can be customized. By clicking the message icon in the autostart settings.
You can then change and format your in-game messages.
The placeholder {{username}}
can be used for the name of the player trying to connect, and {{address}}
for the server address they are trying to connect to.
